This Plan B Skateboards deck has a slightly longer wheel base than standard street decks proving improved stability for those who skate ramps and bowls or just like going fast.

About Plan B Skateboards

The Plan B Skateboarding team was founded in 1991 by Joey Bagodonuts. The team was comprised of many (already) pro skateboarders including Mike Carroll, Rick Howard, Rodney Mullen, Sean Sheffey, and Pat Duffy, while also including skateboarders, Danny Way and Colin McKay. In 1993, Mike Ternasky was killed in a car accident, leaving the ownership of the company in the hands of Danny Way, Colin McKay and Paul Ogletree who temporarily shelved the company and the team. In 2005, with the financial backing of Syndrome Distribution, Way and McKay reformed Plan B Skateboards. The new skateboarding team included Ryan Sheckler, Paul Rodriguez Jr., Ryan Gallant, PJ Ladd, Paul Ogletree,Brian Wenning. Way and McKay maintained their roles as team co-owners as well as professional skaters.

About Colin McKay - Plan B Skateboards Pro

McKay began skating in 1986 and honed and progressed his skateboard skills at Kevin Harris' Richmond Skate Ranch. McKay was sponsored by Powell Peralta and made his video debut in the Bones Brigade Video 4, "Public Domain". He progressed quickly as an amateur vert skater and had a groundbreaking video part in Powell's 1990 film "Propaganda". His style of technical lip tricks helped progress vertical skateboarding, and McKay would remain a top amateur skater on the contest circuit until he turned professional in 1993. Towards the end of 1991, Colin McKay left Powell Peralta to join the preeminent Plan B Skateboards team, a new company formed by Mike Ternansky, Steve Rocco, and Danny Way. McKay's inclusion on Plan B helped him sustain a career in skateboarding during its drought in the early 1990s. The company's 1992 video "Questionable" had compelling street skating parts from all of their team riders, including McKay, which raised the bar on his relevance. This formula was repeated for Plan B's next video "Virtual Reality" in 1993. Plan B would lose its dominance in the years following, but thanks to ESPN's X Games, top vert riders like McKay got to keep their profiles raised and their careers alive as skateboarding regained in popularity. Plan B was shut down and McKay jumped to Girl Skateboards and then Seek Skateboards. In 2005, McKay and Way resurrected Plan B.[2] Colin McKay remains a top force in the world of vertical skateboarding today and is an original rider and share-owner of the skateboard footwear company (DC Shoes), and is part owner of RDS (Red Dragon Skateboards), RDS Skate Supply, and Centre Distribution.

About Medium Concave

This Plan B Skateboards deck has a medium concave which means the curvature from edge to edge is inbetween the shallow concave and deep concave. Found on most skateboards the medium concave make for a good all round skateboard. Since the depth of the concave seem to feel deeper as the deck increases in width, medium concaves are a good choice for decks over 7.75 inches in width.

About Plan B Authentic Concave Construction Construction

This Plan B Skateboards deck utilizes the Plan B Authentic Concave construction. Using the finest Canadian Maple plys and the stiffes glues in the industry, team developed precision cut molds for symmetrical side to side accuracy, stretched concave creating a stronger board and reducing wheel bite, I-Beam technology adds stiffness and more snap, slight nose and tail transition rocker for improves control.

About Wheel Base

The wheelbase of a skateboard deck is the distance from one pair of inner truck mounting holes to the other inner pair. The average wheelbase is 13"-15" and is determined by the type of skateboarding the deck is designed for, a shorter wheel base increase maneuverability while longer wheelbases have improved stability. A 14" wheelbase is standard for street skating decks, they have better maneuverability than pool, vert and longboard skateboards which require longer wheelbases to help improve their stability at higher speeds.
